Hintertuxer Glacier
The Hintertuxer glacier is a glacier in the Austrian Alps. It is located in the Tuxertal, a side valley of the Zillertal, in the province of Tyrol. The glacier has an area of approx. 57 km² and is the only glacier in Austria with guaranteed snow all year round.
It is primarily known for its ski areas and numerous hiking trails. The Hintertux glacier is a popular excursion destination and an important tourist attraction. A large part of the glacier area is protected within a national park.

There are numerous restaurants and huts within the ski and glacier world Zillertal 3000, which offer a large choice of food and drink.
These include the lift station restaurants and summit huts of the cable cars, which are located on the summit of the Hintertux Glacier. You will find a wide selection of regional specialities, such as Kaiserschmarrn, smoked trout, ham, bacon and much more.
Some of the most popular restaurants and huts are the Zillertaler Hütte, the Hochschwarzeck mountain hut, the Gipfelhütte and the Jöchelspitze hut. There are also several cosy inns in the area that serve regional delicacies.
